The Dulles Greenway is a major transportation artery serving Northern Virginia…and is being improved & expanded on a regular, planned basis

Current Construction Projects:

• Exit 2, Battlefield Parkway
  This project began in June of 2005, and consisted of removing the existing Tolbert Lane Bridge and replacing it with a new 4-lane structure with ramps that connect directly to Battlefield Parkway. The cost for this project was $10.5 million. TRIP II built a 2-lane section of Battlefield Parkway from the Greenway to Evergreen Mills Road. The eastbound entrance ramp onto the Greenway was opened to traffic November 1st, 2007. This project provides a second exit point west of Goose Creek, that gives motorists an alternative route for reaching Route 15 (both North & South) and Route 7. The westbound ramps are scheduled to open on May 15, 2008.
• Exit 3, Shreve Mill Road Interchange
  This project consisted of widening the existing Shreve Mill Bridge from 2 lanes to 5 lanes, as well as constructing a new interchange. The cost for this project was $9.5 million. This interchange will provide access from the Greenway to Evergreen Mills Road and Sycolin Road. The westbound exit ramp and the eastbound entrance ramp opened earlier in 2007, and the remaining ramps are scheduled to be completed in the Spring of 2008.

Planned Construction Projects for 2008/09:

• Pavement Resurfacing
  This project is scheduled for the spring and summer of 2009, and will consist of replacement of the top layer of pavement along with any necessary milling of the roadway in both directions…between the mainline Plaza and Claiborne Parkway.
• Dulles Airport Ramp
  Construction of a dedicated ramp from the eastbound lanes of the Dulles Greenway to Dulles International Airport is anticipated to commence in 2009.
